STRENGTHENING RESPONSE CAPACITIES OF MEDICAL PERSONNEL IN PEACEKEEPING OPERATIONS

UNITAR Peacekeping Training Programme has delivered a series of pre-deployment trainings aimed at strengthening the knowledge, skills and attitudes of medical and para-medical personnel deploying to UN peacekeeping operations to address physical and psychological trauma in a gender-responsive manner. The project “Strengthening Response Capacities of Medical Personnel Deployed to UN Peace Operations” targeted eight countries: Kenya, Rwanda, Ghana, Senegal, Burkina Faso, Chad, Togo, and Niger. This impact story reveals how participants have applied the knowledge and skills to manage medical emergency cases in Level 1 medical units.

SUMMER SCHOOL ON GREEN INDUSTRY FOR INCLUSIVE AND SUSTAINABLE INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT

From July 26 to July 29, this online training will provide guidance to policymakers and practitioners on green industrial transformation and provide an up-to-date overview of the debate on green industrial policy. The training is free of charge and will be delivered in English. Upon completion, participants will be awarded a certificate of attendance.

MASTER’S PROGRAMME IN INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS AND DIPLOMATIC PRACTICE

We are particularly proud to announce the launch of the joint UNITAR and Seton Hall University (SHU) Online Master’s Programme in International Affairs and Diplomatic Practice, a new postgraduate programme which will allow mid-career professionals to explore contemporary diplomacy against the changing nature of world politics in relation to international law, and enable them to investigate the complexities of relationships between different countries.

NEW EDITION OF THE MASTER'S IN ANTI-CORRUPTION & DIPLOMACY

UNITAR has partnered with the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) to launch the Master’s in Anti-Corruption & Diplomacy (MACD), a modular postgraduate academic degree conducted over the course of 18 months. Approximately one-third of all food produced globally never gets eaten and is thrown away. Food waste has grave negative consequences that can be traced to poverty, inequality, and climate change. UNITAR AND FAO TO JOINTLY DELIVER AN ONLINE COURSE ON "TRADE, FOOD SECURITY AND NUTRITION" FOR EASTERN AND SOUTHERN AFRICA

UNITAR and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) recently signed an agreement to deliver a joint online course on Trade, Food Security and Nutrition for officials from Eastern and Southern Africa. This is an updated version of the same course delivered in 2019 which generated a great interest across the region.

UNITAR JOINS THE GLOBAL ALLIANCE FOR SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP

UNITAR has joined the Global Alliance for Social Entrepreneurship, a World Economic Forum initiative hosted by the Schwab Foundation. The Global Alliance, formerly known as the COVID Response Alliance was launched in April 2020 to mobilize support for social entrepreneurs on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In light of the International Professional Programme’s recent launch, UNITAR and CEU San Pablo University held a conference in Madrid, Spain to provide students with insights into the United Nations. More specifically, attendees were given insights into UNITAR’s mission and strategy to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as well as support governments in the implementation of the 2030 Agenda.
