In light of the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, the Global Cyber Alliance and UNITAR, with the support of the Organization of American States, will host a special dialogue on the current priorities pertaining to cybersecurity and cyberhygiene. Join international cybercrime experts for a debate on current tools to fight cybercrime, on practical experiences to reduce cyber threats, especially in the “new normal” of remote working, and on the long-term vision of the global effort to build a resilient cyber space.

The cyber threats facing us are continuing to evolve and increase. It is no longer a matter of “if” you will be impacted by a cyber event but “when.” The reality of cyber risk is undeniable, but that does not mean we can not make progress to reduce it. Confronting the challenge requires global cooperation, concrete solutions, and measurable action. It is critical that we work together to ensure cybersecurity solutions and resources are accessible to everyone, including the most vulnerable, such as small businesses, remote workers, and online students. More needs to be done for global cyberhygiene.

This webinar aims to provide practical answers to key questions:

• What is the current impact of the pandemic on cyberspace, and what is the outlook for the coming months?

• What are the vulnerabilities due to the sudden increase in telework and online education?

• Where to find simple and quick steps to help secure your home and organization?

• How will the cyber security landscape emerge from this pandemic, and what can we learn from it to be

prepared for the next crisis?

This virtual roundtable aims to bring together international experts to discuss lessons learned about responding to the COVID-19 pandemic and building back better.

The virtual roundtable consists of a two-hour panel dicussion covering the following topics:

  • New threat landscape, legal and social aspects on the global emergence of remote working and a vision from Asia-Pacific
  • New threat landscape, the Americas, next playground for the crisis
  • New threats detected, now and in the future– the law enforcement perspective
  • Building resilience from collaboration - the industry perspective
  • Vulnerabilities of small businesses, remote workers, and online students
  • Building resilience for small businesses, remote workers, as well as key lessons
  • The practical side, solutions at hand

Participation is open to government officials, diplomats, staff of international organizations, development practitioners, faculty members, and administrators of educational institutions.
