15-19 November 2010, Kinshasa, the Democratic Republic of the Congo: The Multilateral Diplomacy Programme (MDP) in partnership with the Congolese Diplomacy Academy (DRC), as well as the South African Department of International Relations and Cooperation, organized a workshop from 15-19 November 2010 in Kinshasa on Results-Based Management (RBM). It was opened by the Director of the Congolese Academy, Mr. Bonaventure Mpasi Makenga. The workshop introduced the thirty-two participants, all of whom were senior staff from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the DRC, to RBM.
This workshop enabled participants to enhance their understanding of RBM in view of preparing, implementing, and monitoring development projects assessing the outcomes. Case studies exercises allowed diplomats to apply the skills they learnt. The last day of the workshop was devoted to a panel where the Euorpean Union and UNDP gave presentations about their institution’s experience in implementing RBM in their projects.
This was the second training activitiy organized by the Congolese Diplomacy Academy and the Multilateral Diplomacy Programme, which represents a partnership between both institutions aimed at strengthening Congolese officials’ skills in diverse fields linked to multilateral diplomacy.
Following the workshop, participants expressed their satisfaction with the training in helping improve their understanding of RBM and aid development.
