Camilo Pinzón Orbe

Camilo Pinzón Orbe is an Ecuadorian economist with a specialization in sustainable development and a master's degree in business administration.  He has developed his professional career in topics related to education, economics,  public management, high impact entrepreneurship and business innovation.

He has promoted projects in: civil society, companies, public sector and academia.  He has held positions such as Planning and Project Director of Fe y Alegría - International Federation (organization with projects in 18 countries), Executive Director of Junior Achievement Ecuador, Director of the Productive Programs in The Ecuadorian Corporation for the Promotion of Exports and Investments (CORPEI-MCPEC). Undersecretary for Investment and entrepreneurship development (Coordinating Ministry of Competitiveness - MCPEC).  First General Director and founder of the National Institute of Meritocracy, Pearson Ecuador´s Managing Director and Head Andean Region for Higher Education at Pearson International.  He he is fluent in Spanish, English, French and Portuguese.

Camilo is the current Dean of EDES Business School from UTPL University (Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja) and, since 2018, he is the executive director of CIFAL Miami. UTPL is the leading university in research, innovative entrepreneurship long distance education in Ecuador with presence in several countries.

Camilo has successfully promoted programs through non-profit institutions; he has been co-founder and president for 6 years of the CEIE (Corporation for Entrepreneurship and Innovation of Ecuador), organizaion which leads the development of innovative and entrepreneurial ecosystem in Ecuador through the AEI network. Since 2017, he has been the ecuadorian  representative  to  the Global Entrepreneurship Network - GEN and has advised several times to Latin American countries in development effective private public alliances for business.

Since 2012 he is a member of the Leadership Governance Corporation (CLPG) and Since 2015 his chairman, an institution that promotes good governance through training, recognition of good practices and promotion of democratic dialogue. 

As an entrepreneur per excellence, he has driven his own projects. Camilo is the co-founder and director of the first angel investment network in Ecuador (Startups & Ventures) which has more than 6 years of experience in capital investment in early stages.  He is a shareholder in fast growing business. Thanks to his renowned performance, he represents Ecuador at the Global Investors Forum Angeles (WBAF). 

He is also an independent consultant advising in Latin American clients especially in matters of higher education, public-private governance, innovation, strategic planning and entrepreneurship.
