Summary
Established in 2014 and hosted by the City of Antwerp. CIFAL Flanders is a centre of expertise on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) offering trainings, project development and coaching. CIFAL Flanders promotes peace, human rights and sustainable development and the declarations, principles and guidelines of the United Nations, with focus on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. CIFAL Flanders is devoted to strengthen a just transition towards a sustainable society and economy through capacity building of all actors in society.

Thematic areas:
CIFAL Flanders’ core expertise is the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the 17 SDGs.
Further expertise consists of the following UN declarations and principles:
- the New Urban Agenda (Habitat III)
- the 10 principles of UN Global Compact
- the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (Ruggie Framework)

CIFAL Flanders Director
Mr. Peter Wollaert

Mr. Peter Wollaert serves as Director of CIFAL Flanders. Strategic and results-driven networker with a very good knowledge of the Dutch-speaking region of Flanders, the French-speaking region of Wallonia and the multilingual Brussels-Capital Region in Belgium and of the Brussels-based international organizations and institutions.
Between 2000 and 2002, Mr. Wollaert developed and implemented the strategic plan for the Brussels-based social profit organization KAURI, the largest network on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in Belgium. From 2002 to 2012 he has led on a weekly basis, trainings, seminars, debates, conferences, network-events, company-visits, and cross talks with NGOs tackling all possible topics in the field of CSR.
In August 2013, he was appointed as Manager of the Forum for Social Entrepreneurship of Vlerick Business School. He is also Lecturer at the Vlerick Business School in the fields of Business Ethics and CSR, and teaching to all Masters in General & Marketing Management.
