CONGOPE, the Citizenship and Development Foundation, sees the need to work and disseminate the open government issue in the different local governments and State functions, it coordinates awareness-raising workshops by CIFAL Ecuador, this in collaboration with the International Republican Institute and the Hanns Seidel Foundation, in order to promote Open Government as a public management model.

The aim of this event is to generate a more efficient use of public resources that responds to the priority needs of citizens and, consequently, to reestablish the trust of citizens in their governments and improve their legitimacy.

Publicize the scope and benefits of Open Government to the members and officials of the Prefectures who wish to apply; as well as exposing successful international experiences of Open Government and the current situation of its implementation in Ecuador.

This event covers these topics:

  • The ABC of Open Government.
  • Experience in the implementation of the Open Government model.
  • Actions and identification of needs for the implementation of the open government model.
  • Analysis of the situation of the Prefectures, strengths and weaknesses in transparency and citizen participation.
  • Prioritization of actions and construction of a roadmap.

The dialogue to take place in 2 days, with the intervention of  panelists addressing the  topics. The zoom platform will be used.
