This map illustrates remote sensing-detected areas of damage in Central & Western Visayas region caused by the Typhoon Haiyan as analyzed by the US government (USG) using multiple sources and as of the 19th of November 2013. Using a rapid assessment methodology, USG has released this data daily since the passage of Typhoon Haiyan on 8 November 2013. This map is intended as a regional guide indicating areas of damage and is provided by UNITAR/UNOSAT based on requests from humanitarian personnel in the region. This is a preliminary analysis & has not yet been validated in the field. Please send ground feedback to UNITAR / UNOSAT.
