In the past five years (2016-2022), over 316,000 women (49% of all participants) have engaged in UNITAR events focusing on learning. Nineteen UNITAR result areas have been dedicated to gender equality/empowerment of women (GEEW) since 2018, underscoring UNITAR's commitment to gender parity by breaking barriers to access and participation across age groups.

While progress has been achieved, UNITAR acknowledges the need to address gender disparities. Female completion rates stand at 29%, slightly lower than males at 31%. Women exhibit a 78% application rate of knowledge and skills, 5 percentage points lower than men. Confidence rates in applying knowledge and skills for women stand at 86%, trailing men by 7 percentage points.
