New online course on the International Economic Legal System and Sustainable Development

7 September - 4 October 2015

We are pleased to announce a new online course on The International Economic Legal System and Sustainable Development.

The achievement of sustainable development requires efforts for new policy initiatives and regulatory interventions which may be in line or in conflict with international trade and investment law.

Course Goal

The course provides effective ways of integrating sustainable development into international economic agreements and other legal instruments i.e. international investment agreements, free trade agreements, etc.

Contents and Workload

The course is composed of 4 modules, covering the interrelations between trade and environmental protection; the concept of mutual supportiveness as a key principle to achieve sustainable development, and the potential synergies and eventual conflicts between foreign investment and environmental protection.

Each module lasts 1 week and requires on average 10 hours of study-time. The course organization offers a degree of flexibility for full-time working professionals.
