Human mobility in the post-COVID19 recovery: Looking beyond the horizon of the current pandemic
In light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) and CIFAL Philippines have joined efforts to host a special Virtual Roundtable on the role and future of migration and human mobility in the post-COVID era.
This event aims to spark discussion among practitioners and policy makers not only about the evident consequences but also to look beyond the horizon of the current pandemic and try to identify key trends and implications for human mobility in the long term.
Considering what we know so far about the current global pandemic, this webinar aims to explore how human mobility can be potentially both affected, as well as part of the response to the pandemic, and to provide answers to the following key questions:
• Is it true that the “Age of Migration” is over?
• What are the underlying trends of change to last even after pandemic is over?
• What is the role of migration and human mobility in the post-COVID19 recovery?
• What are the lessons to take for human mobility in case of future pandemics?

Participation is open to government officials, diplomats, staff of international organizations, development practitioners, faculty members, and administrators of educational institutions.
