Complying with the Principles for Responsible Banking and the 2030 Agenda

In light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the UN Environment Programme (UNEP), UNICAJA Banco, and the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) will host a special Virtual Roundtable on the impacts, needs, and responses to the current situation by banking and financial institutions, and provide insights that will help them understand and navigate this unprecedented situation.

The event will bring together international experts to discuss how they can accelerate efforts to achieve sustainable and responsible financial systems and exchange successful practical experiences.

This session will address the following:

1) How to define 'responsible banking'

2) Know the implications of responsible banking for the private and public sector

This event brings together representatives from these key stakeholder groups to discuss in practical terms the measures governments and other stakeholders can take to ensure that this vital component of our societies is not left behind – now more than ever.

Participation is open to government officials, diplomats, staff of international organizations, development practitioners, faculty members, and administrators of educational institutions.
