The Agenda 2030 was agreed in September 2015 by the heads of State in the United Nations Assembly. At the core of the 2030 Agenda are 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The universal, transformational and inclusive SDGs describe major development challenges for humanity. They cover global challenges that are crucial for its survival. They set environmental limits and set critical thresholds for the use of natural resources. The goals address a range of social needs including education, health, social protection and job opportunities while tackling climate change and environmental protection. The SDGs address key systemic barriers to sustainable development such as inequality, unsustainable consumption patterns, weak institutional capacity and environmental degradation.

The seminar itself is based on a “hackathon” of ideas and certain processes that engage civil society in the search of creative activities in which they can solve specific social necessities through participative dynamics and through the online platform “Empodera.org”. All of the proposals must be linked with the seventeen SDGs of the 2030 Agenda created by United Nations.

All of the participants can rely on the guidance offered by the organizations involved.
