On the 6th and 7th of September OHCHR and UNITAR held the second edition of Human Rights Orientation Programme for Diplomats in Geneva. This Orientation Programme was held in the Palais Wilson, the former seat of the League of Nations, now the seat of the High Commissioner for Human Rights.
This event was an opportunity for the fifty-six diplomats, from forty-one Member States, to enhance their understanding of Human Rights before the starting of the Human Rights Council which opened its fifteenth session in Geneva on 13th September.

This programme was organized by UNITAR’s Multilateral Diplomacy Programme (MDP) in strong cooperation with the OHCHR. Within the framework of 3 years’ project UNITAR has organized similar Orientation Programmes in two other UN offices (New York, and Addis Ababa).

As a continuation, MDP is organizing a High level Panel on Human Rights and Trade, to be held on the 27th of September, from 14:00-16:00, Room XII in Palais des Nations. All Members of Permanent Missions accreditated to UNOG are welcome to register to this event on the following link http://www.unitar.org/event/hrt-panel
