25 April 2018, Geneva, Switzerland -The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) is pleased to announce the launch of three new Master Programmes in partnership with the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) which will take place in Russia, Moscow.

MGIMO universityAs of 2018, students will have the unique opportunity to enhance their knowledge of multilateral diplomacy through the following Master Programmes: “Multilateral Diplomacy”, “International Humanitarian Cooperation and External Relations of the Regions” and “Project Management”. This partnership is the result of many years of cooperation with MGIMO in the field of professional development.

These Master’s programmes allow students to acquire a deep understanding of international relations as well as to develop the ability to analyse current affairs and evaluate today’s challenges effectively.  The programmes also aims to strengthen practical knowledge; from negotiation skills to business communication, students will be prepared for a wide range of careers in international organizations and European institutions.

The two-years Master’s programmes will start in Autumn 2018 and will be taught in Russian and/or in English, depending on the programme. MGIMO university master's programme presentationThe special feature of the new programme is the active participation of UNITAR experts. Each semester, an educational module will be taught by specialists/practitioners from different international organizations, aimed at developing negotiation skills, leadership qualities, and students’ public speaking skills, amongst others.

The final semester of the programme is comprised of a practical module and is held on the premises of international organizations. Students will have an opportunity to conduct an on-the-job training in one of UNITAR’s international organization partners.

Students who successfully graduate from the program will be awarded their respective Master's degree from MGIMO University.
