The Knowledge Systems Innovation Section (KSI) is offering an internship/traineeship position for young professionals or postgraduate students. The working experience is designed to allow interns/trainees to strengthen their knowledge and gain practical experience in the training and learning fields, dealing with a variety of related aspects ranging from innovation and technology-enhanced learning to quality assurance. They will also benefit from working in a multicultural and vibrant environment.
The Knowledge Systems Innovation section contributes to continuous innovation in the implementation of UNITAR’s learning and training strategies. KSI works to enhance the access to information and knowledge on training methodologies and tools, and to facilitate the utilization of adult learning principles on instructional design approaches.
KSI also implements innovative learning solutions and disseminates results to enable the diversification of the Institute’s learning and training portfolio.

KSI is now accepting applications from interested and qualified candidates for an internship/traineeship of a minimum period of six months on a full-time basis at UNITAR headquarters in Geneva.
Overview of responsibilities
The intern/trainee will be involved with the overall work and responsibilities of the section, and specifically assisting with research on new projects. Some responsibilities include:
- Conducting research on entrepreneurship and creative entrepreneurship focusing on youth and women in several developing countries;
- Preparing reports on outcomes of research
- Assisting in research for identification of partners and fundraising opportunities for various projects of the section.
Specific terms of reference (ToRs) will be established in accordance with ongoing projects. ToRs will also include learning outcomes on specific skills to be developed during internship/traineeship assignment.
We particularly welcome applications from candidates in the following fields:
- International relations / Political science
- International development
A high level of individual responsibility, commitment and initiative, knowledge of MS Office package and computer skills to deal with a variety of tools are required. Knowledge of Adobe InDesign and Adobe Illustrator and familiarity with web 2.0 technologies are highly desirable.
Proficiency in English and / or French.
