22 March 2018, Geneva, Switzerland - UNITAR jointly with CIFAL Madrid is pleased to announce the launch of the first edition of its Postgraduate Diploma on Road Safety Management and Leadership (in Spanish) in partnership with the European University.
Road traffic injuries claim more than 1.2 million lives each year with a disproportionate impact on health and development. They are the ninth leading cause of death across all age groups globally and the leading cause among young people aged between 15 and 29 years.
The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development has set a goal of reducing road traffic deaths and injuries by 50% by 2020. Contributing to reduce the number of deaths and injuries through training and education is at the core of UNITAR’s work.
Reflecting on the urgency to build capacity to improve road safety, UNITAR is pleased to offer its Postgraduate Diploma on Road Safety Management and Leadership. The four-week Diploma aims to empower individuals responsible for road safety with knowledge and practical tools that will enable them to reduce traffic fatalities.
