UNITAR New York Office (NYO) has developed through the Global Foundation for Performing Arts a Cultural and Soft Diplomacy programme for 2023-2024.
These projects have included so far:

LONGY - Master of Music in Music Education/Music Performance
The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), the Longy School of Music of Bard College, and the Global Foundation for the Performing Arts (GFPA) is proud to have worked together to offer our Master of Music in Music Education/Music Performance program to a global audience. Students are expected to study in person on the Longy campus in Cambridge, Massachusetts, from Fall 2023. This degree blends Longy’s mission to prepare musicians to make a difference in the world with the UN Sustainable Development Goals committing to achieving inclusive and quality education for all. Together, UNITAR, Longy, and GFPA lift affordable, relevant music training—and seek to remove barriers posed by gender and wealth disparities, achieve universal access to quality higher education, and center music and the arts in the arena of cultural diplomacy and understanding.
LONGY - Artist Diploma (A.D.)
UNITAR New York Office, Longy School of Music of Bard College, and the Global Foundation for the Performing Arts are pleased to announce that applications are now open for the Fall 2023 Artist Diploma (A.D.) program.
Longy School of Music's Artist Diploma is a two-year program offering emerging professionals the opportunity to pair innovative musical study with their own artistic vision. Artist Diploma candidates get the tools they need to use music to make a difference in the world.
Get practical instruction and professional experience while studying with exceptional artist faculty. Artist Diploma candidates explore and amplify their talents, discovering new ways to change lives through music.
To be eligible for the program, students must have professional experience in music performance, and meet the admission requirements of Longy School of Music. Applications will be accepted from students all over the world.
Bachelor's Degree Program by Oberlin College
UNITAR New York Office, Oberlin College, and the Global Foundation for the Performing Arts are pleased to announce that applications are now open for the Fall 2023 Bachelor Degree program. Bachelor Degree Programs by Oberlin are specifically designed to promote quality education, and is a unique opportunity for students to gain invaluable skills in this field.
All majors within Oberlin College are available to apply, from both the College of Arts and Science and the Conservatory of the Oberlin College. It is open to students from all disciplines and is an excellent opportunity to expand one's knowledge and experience to promote the mission of quality education.
Oberlin College has been carefully selected by UNITAR-NYO to join its global education network, as the college shares the same vision of promoting global community and cultural and soft diplomacy. UNITAR-NYO is excited to partner with Oberlin College in providing students with an opportunity to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to become leaders in this field.
The Bachelor Degree program will focus on the development on communication and leadership, with a particular emphasis on the SDGs. Students will be exposed to a range of diverse practices and traditions and will be encouraged to develop their own unique perspective on these issues.
The program is led by highly experienced and knowledgeable Oberlin faculties. Students will have access to a range of resources and support services, including academic counseling, career advice, and networking opportunities.
To be eligible for the program, students must have completed high school or its equivalent, and meet the admission requirements of Oberlin College. Applications will be accepted from students all over the world, and no prior experience of working experiences are required.
This Bachelor Degree program is a truly unique opportunity for the mission of quality education by helping students to develop their skill. and to make a positive impact in the world.
